Edge of Becoming is a mixed-media diptych about transformation, struggle, and the ability to change and begin again.

The Fire panel represents the most difficult part of transformation. I created a dark, almost volcanic surface with red and orange lava breaking through it. For me, it represents pressure, struggle, and those moments in life when everything feels like it is burning and changing around us. But fire is not only about destruction. Just like volcanic lava eventually cools and creates new ground, struggle can become the beginning of something new.

Between the two panels, fire and water meet and create mist and steam. That meeting point is very important to me. It represents the moment between struggle and healing, destruction and renewal, when we are no longer who we were, but we don't yet know exactly who we are becoming. That is the Edge of Becoming.
