Edge of Becoming is a mixed-media diptych about transformation, struggle, and the ability to change and begin again.
The Water panel represents what comes after - the process of healing, adapting, and moving forward. Deep blues and turquoise, layered textures, and resin create the feeling of water moving through the surface. Water can be incredibly powerful, but it also finds its way around obstacles. For me, it represents release, renewal, and our ability to adjust and continue.
Between the two panels, fire and water meet and create mist and steam. That meeting point is very important to me. It represents the moment between struggle and healing, destruction and renewal, when we are no longer who we were, but we don't yet know exactly who we are becoming. That is the Edge of Becoming.
